Next Level Harris Health System
It is a bittersweet moment for Harris Health to move Thomas Street Health Center. Unfortunately, the current building (2015 Thomas Street, Houston, Texas 77009) has become a challenge to maintain and use over the years. The building is more than 100 years old and requires many structural upgrades to continue its use as a healthcare facility. The building is also a historical landmark and, as such, cannot be extensively renovated to accommodate its future needs. Luckily, Harris Health has completed a nearly two-year renovation and construction project of Quentin Mease Hospital—converting it to a multi-floor healthcare facility now named Quentin Mease Health Center.
The nearly two-year renovation and construction of Quentin Mease Health Center (3601 North MacGregor Way, Houston, Texas 77004) means that space is available for the relocation of Thomas Street Health Center. It will be known as Thomas Street at Quentin Mease Health Center and promises to offer all services currently available at its present location in a modern and more accommodating space. Additionally, the new clinic is about 15 minutes south of our current location off State 288 and on the Metro bus line (Route 5 Southmore).
Our plans call for taking care of the first patients at Thomas Street at Quentin Mease Health Center on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
Leading up to the opening in May, of our new facility, expect several communications—face-to-face interactions with your care team, MyHealth alerts, signage, flyers, and posters—about what to expect to make the transition to Thomas Street at Quentin Mease Health Center as simple as possible for you.
